Catskills Pride and the Boys and Girls Club of Wallkill: A Collaborative Partnership

The Catskills Pride organization and the Boys and Girls Club of Wallkill have maintained a strong and impactful partnership for over the past four years, focusing on supporting the local community and providing assistance to those in need.

One of the core initiatives of this collaboration has been the annual Christmas gift-giving program. Since 2021, Catskills Pride has worked closely with the Boys and Girls Club of Wallkill to identify and fulfill the holiday wishes of the club's youth members. Through this initiative, Catskills Pride has been able to bring joy and excitement to the children, ensuring that every child receives a meaningful gift during the holiday season.

In 2024, the partnership between Catskills Pride and the Boys and Girls Club of Wallkill expanded to address the needs of LGBTQIA+ youths in the community. Recognizing the unique challenges and barriers faced by this population, Catskills Pride hosted a collection drive for essential toiletry and sanitary products. The drive was a resounding success, with the community rallying together to donate a substantial amount of these much-needed items.

The collected donations were then distributed through the Boys and Girls Club of Wallkill, ensuring that the LGBTQIA+ youth members had access to these essential personal care products. This collaborative effort not only provided tangible support but also sent a powerful message of acceptance, inclusion, and community care.

The partnership between Catskills Pride and the Boys and Girls Club of Wallkill has been a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives. By combining their resources, expertise, and dedication, these two organizations have been able to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and youth in the Wallkill area.

Looking ahead, the Catskills Pride and Boys and Girls Club of Wallkill partnership is poised to continue its positive trajectory, exploring new ways to support the local community and address the evolving needs of its members. Through this collaborative effort, the Catskills region can look forward to a future where all individuals, regardless of their background or identity, are empowered, supported, and celebrated.
